Usually the tension of the strings of an electric guitar is much looser than of an acoustic one and playing barre chords on E.G. is not a big deal for a beginner.

I own 2 E.Gs. - Les Paul Epiphone Std Plus and Flight guitar that I'm not seeing in stores these days. (it's similar to Ibanez GRX20Z but with 24 frets).

The second one has more narrow and handy neck that easier to grasp making playing barre chords effortless. But it doesn't necessary mean it'd be the same for you.

The best way to figure out which guitar is right specifically for you is to go to "real" music store, put your hands on different types and brands of electric guitars and naturally make your choice.

Good Luck!
